Best suited for homeschool families with children in grades 1–5\, this interactive day brings history\, engineering and nature to life. \nParticipants can enjoy an “open house style” event at Auburn Valley State Parks & the Marshall Mansion\, wandering between engaging stations and activities including: \n\nA hunt for simple machines inside the 1897 Victorian house\nDiscovery of early local industries\, including mills\, with steam-power demonstrations\nA walk along paved park trails past an 18th & 19th Century mill site and other historic structures and sites\n\nAt the Marshall Steam Museum\, participants can: \n\nEnjoy rides on the Auburn Valley Railroad from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm\nDesign and build their own vehicle using recycled materials\, inspired by early automotive engineering\nStop by the activity table to design your own paper pocket watch\n\nPlease note that all children must be accompanied by an adult throughout their time on the site. Picnic tables are available for participants to eat a bagged lunch outside\, but there will be no food for sale or provided food (or fridge space). \nProgram Admission:\n$25/participating child (grades 1 – 5).
