DESCRIPTION:Kennet Square\, the mushroom capital of the world\, invites the public to their 40th Annual Mushroom Festival\, celebrating “Harvesting 40 Years Together.” This event\, which draws thousands to Kennett Square\, celebrates the local mushroom industry\, considered one of the most sustainable farming industries in the country\, and raises funds in the form of grants awarded to local non-profits. \nThe weekend-long event will begin with the Mushroom Parade on Thursday\, September 4th at 6:00 pm. The parade will travel down S. Broad St. and turn west on State St. and will feature bands\, dancers\, floats\, and mushroom-themed entries. \nThe Festival itself will take place on Saturday\, September 6th from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm and Sunday\, September 7th from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Unique aspects of the Festival will include an amateur cooking contest featuring mystery ingredients and mushrooms and a fried mushroom eating contest\, as well as traditional festival activities such as food\, vendors\, family fun\, and live music. Don’t miss this celebration of Southern Chester County agriculture and tourism.

There will be free kids’ crafting with Dean Adventure Camps and face painting (pay per face) with Mermaid Ally. \n\nLive music from noon to 3:00 pm will be provided by Wayside Shakeup. The Market is held outdoors rain or shine. A cancellation is possible in the case of severe or dangerous weather. DESCRIPTION:Join Family Funday with PopUpPlay\, each Sunday from Memorial Day weekend to September 28th\, from 1:00-4:00 pm at Spruce Street Harbor Park. This event is free and open to the public\, and all ages are welcome. \nActivities include boat building\, puppet making\, and even constructing a working catapult. Each week promises captivating experiences for kids of all ages with a new make-and-take activity. These activities are available on a first-come\, first-served basis and are available while supplies last. \nParking on-site will be limited due to I-95 CAP construction. However\, many great ways to access the Waterfront include walking and biking along the Delaware River Trail\, rideshare\, and public transit. \nOutside food and beverages are allowed\, although alcohol is prohibited inside DRWC-owned public spaces and coolers are not permitted. Chairs may be occupied in public spaces during a special event or before the start of a special event. Any chair(s) left unoccupied will be removed.
