SUMMARY:Historic Chadds Ford Days
DESCRIPTION:Come out to Chadds Ford to experience historical demonstrations at the site of a 1777 Revolutionary War battle. Two timed skirmishes will occur at 11:30 am and 3:30 pm both days\, as well as artillery and line drills. Re-enactors\, camp followers\, demonstrators and other historians will be on site all weekend. Colonial crafters will demonstrate historic trades such as beer brewing\, blacksmithing\, wood carving and wool dying\, to name a few\, while modern artisans will also be on site selling their handmade items. Local authors will sell their latest books and non-profits will be available to speak with the public about their organization. \nLive music\, food\, and beverages will be available. Children will have the opportunity to attend “School of the Soldier” and experience first-hand what it would be like as a member of Washington’s army regiment. \nAdmission is available at the gate on the day of the event (no pre-sale tickets are available) and is $10 for adults 18 and older and $5 for children 7 – 17. Children 6 years old and younger and CFHS members are free. \nLeashed dogs are welcome\, although owners should be aware of high noise levels. Parking is located in a field adjacent to the Festival on N. Creek Road.

Local Artists this weekend will be Useful & Beautiful and local musicians Kevin Schramm and Lizard Creek. The Community Tent will be representatives from Friends of Crum Creek. Local Artists this weekend will be Useful & Beautiful and local musicians Kevin Schramm and Lizard Creek. The Community Tent will be representatives from Friends of Crum Creek. Join Tyler Arboretum for Family Explorers: What Lives at the Arboretum? \nThis program invites families to explore nature using their senses to uncover its secrets. Each month\, head outdoors to discover a different seasonal theme\, searching for plants\, animals\, and other natural wonders that bring the Arboretum to life. Using simple tools like magnifying glasses or binoculars\, participants can take a closer look at their discoveries. \nEach child will receive a Tyler journal to document discoveries\, with time at the end to reflect\, draw\, or write about what they’ve found. Bring your journal to future Family Explorers tours to capture all the amazing moments of the season. \nPre-registration is required for this all-ages event (although this program is best suited for elementary school children accompanied by adults; families and siblings of all ages are welcome). \nCheck in at the Visitor Center\, where you’ll meet your guide. As with any walk on the Tyler trails\, sturdy shoes are suggested.  \nPLEASE NOTE: Strollers may not be ideal on some of the trails. If you plan to bring an infant or young child\, consider a carrier. Weather or other factors may adjust the day’s topic\, but nature will always shine through! In the event of inclement weather\, the tour will be held indoors.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the season’s bounty with Harvest Home at Colonial PA Farmstead\, a festive day honoring 18th-century traditions of gratitude\, labor\, and community. \nRooted in English agricultural customs brought to colonial Pennsylvania\, Harvest Home marked the successful gathering of the year’s crops and the turning of the season toward autumn. Join the Farmstead for hands-on activities and historic demonstrations including cider making\, hearth cooking and food preservation\, woodworking\, blacksmithing\, natural dyeing\, and more. Come see the Farmstead’s newest addition to the farm\, ox team in training Bean and Diesel! \nLast admission is at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $14 for Adults\, $10 for Children\, and $7 for Members.

Children who stop by the witch’s house will be entertained with stories\, jokes\, and receive a treat.
