Seek out the day’s wonders at the Arboretum\, uncovering plants\, animals\, and other seasonal highlights that bring the landscape to life. \nLed by knowledgeable guides\, your adventure may take you to the pond\, through shady woodland trails\, or into sunny meadows — each offering its own unique discoveries. Using simple tools like magnifying glasses\, you’ll take a closer look at the natural world and learn more about its hidden connections. \nAbout your guide: Forest Knight is one of Tyler’s Lead Educators. Forest joined Tyler’s Education Department in April of last year\, and helps run the Arboretum’s field trips and summer camp programs. They have a love of nature and have worked in the outdoor education field for 4+ years.  \nPRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED. \nThe program is best suited for elementary school-aged children accompanied by an adult. Family and siblings of any age are welcome. Check in at the Visitor Center\, where you’ll meet your guide. As with any walk at Tyler\, sturdy shoes are suggested. PLEASE NOTE: Strollers may not be ideal on some of our trails. In case of inclement weather\, the tour will move indoors. \nMEMBERS:  FREE \nNON-MEMBERS: $18 per adult; $10 per child ages 3-17; children two and under are free and do not need to be registered. Admission is included in your price\, so feel free to stay the day! \nGUEST PASS HOLDERS (for non-members only): FREE. When checking in\, please submit your guest pass to the Visitor Center Associate or inform them that you are accompanying a Family-level or higher member.

Each month\, head outdoors to discover a different seasonal theme\, searching for plants\, animals\, and other natural wonders that bring the Arboretum to life. Using simple tools like magnifying glasses or binoculars\, take a closer look at your discoveries. \nEach child will receive a Tyler journal to document discoveries\, with time at the end to reflect\, draw\, or write about what we’ve found. Bring your journal to future Family Explorers tours to capture all the amazing moments of the season. \nThis tour’s guide\, Barbara Frank\, is a PA Master Naturalist\, a Tyler-trained docent\, a yoga teacher\, an artist\, and a true lover of nature in all of its manifestations. She leads tours for children and adults. \nThis program is best suited for elementary school children accompanied by adults; however\, families and siblings of all ages are welcome. Check in at the Visitor Center\, where you’ll meet your guide. As with any walk on the Tyler trails\, sturdy shoes are suggested. A registered adult must accompany any child ages 17 and under. \nMEMBERS: FREE (Remember to sign into your member account before continuing for your discounts) \nNON-MEMBERS:$18 per adult\, $10 per child ages 3-17; children ages two and under are free and do not need to register. The non-member fee includes admission\, so please feel free to stay for the day! \nGUEST PASS HOLDERS: For non-members only.
