DESCRIPTION: Fairy House Workshop & Woodland Walk  \nStep into a world of imagination\, creativity\, and a little bit of magic! In this hands-on workshop\, participants will design and build their own miniature fairy furniture\, doors\, and tiny details—then bring their creations to life outdoors. \nWe’ll begin in the makerspace\, where you’ll have the opportunity to use tools like the laser cutter and other machines to create detailed\, custom pieces for your fairy builds. You’ll learn how to safely and creatively translate simple designs into tiny furniture\, doors\, and decorative elements using a mix of digital fabrication and hand-building techniques. \nOnce your pieces are complete\, we’ll head out together on a guided walk to a nearby park. There\, we’ll use natural materials like sticks\, leaves\, bark\, and stones to construct whimsical fairy houses nestled into trees and hidden throughout the landscape—combining your crafted elements with the beauty of the outdoors. \nThis workshop blends technology\, craft\, and nature—inviting participants to explore both the makerspace and the environment in a playful\, imaginative way. \n What to expect: \nLearn to use the laser cutter and makerspace tools to create miniature designs\, build fairy furniture\, doors\, and decorative elements\nTake a guided walk to a local park\, and use natural materials to construct fairy houses in the landscape \n All materials provided\, no prior experience needed. \nPerfect for families\, creatives\, and anyone who loves making\, exploring\, and a touch of magic. This Circus & Play Festival celebrates boundary-pushing performance in public space for young people and families. \nWild Horizon: a circus and play festival for young people and families\, pushing the boundaries of performance in public space. \nWild Horizon is a glimpse of what can happen when we play and perform in public space. “Celebrated local companies\, far-flung dreamers\, and international touring artists fill the pier with breathtaking performances from morning to dusk.” \nJoin the takeover of Philadelphia’s Cherry Street Pier\, an urban ruin reimagined as a place for creativity\, for a weekend of wonderful journeys and fun ideas fit for young ones\, families\, and adventurers of all ages. \nExperience world-class performances\, youth workshops\, interactive installations\, and peer-led exchange\, produced by Almanac Projects\, Ninth Planet\, and Rebel Arts Movement. Featured performances for the very young to all ages from Stephen Noonan (The PaperBoats) and Threshold from Australia\, the Well-Balanced Dads\, Hooligans & Co\, and Full Out Formula from Chicago\, dance from Philadelphia’s Esther Baker and Tammy Carrasco\, site-specific juggling installations from David Chervony and Stephen Doutt\, and new creations from a cohort of Wild Seeds resident artists. \nJoin us for a fun weekend of engaging\, family-friendly\, and curiosity-inspiring live performances. It’s a glimpse of what the future of contemporary circus holds for artists and audiences alike. \nAll performances are FREE\, with donations encouraged.
