Gay Street will remain closed to vehicles on Monday holidays (Memorial Day and Labor Day) and start a day early on Thursdays ahead of Friday holidays (Juneteenth and Independence Day). \nDowntown West Chester has a variety of on-street parking\, surface lots\, and parking garages available. \nOpportunities for free parking downtown: \n\nOn-street parking is free on Saturdays until 5pm.\nOn-street parking\, surface lots\, and parking garages are free on Sundays (excluding the Chester County Justice Center Garage).\nEvery First Friday of the month\, on-street parking is free after 5pm.\n\nGay Street is closed to vehicles for the Open-Air Market every weekend from May through September.

DESCRIPTION:Join for the sixth year of Tredyffrin Public Library’s FREE presentation with award-winning tutor and writing specialist Carrie Waldron-Brown\, MA (Between the Lines Tutoring). This enthusiastic educator holds a Master of Arts in English Literature from Middlebury College’s Bread Loaf School via Oxford University (UK)\, and an undergraduate degree in English Literature magna cum laude from Barnard College/Columbia University. Carrie is a seasoned/former English teacher and writing center director with a particular passion for helping students gain confidence with the writing process. \nHundreds of students have benefitted from Carrie’s guidance. In this workshop she’ll give us an overview of the essay process\, advice on how to nail down a superior topic\, and guidelines to effectively develop a precise and eloquent essay. Also\, Carrie covers “pro tips” to magnify your “WOW” factor\, helping your essay radiantly stand out for admissions officers. \nParents and students are welcomed to attend; the presentation will end with time for a Q&A\, so bring your questions–or send them in advance with your email registration request.
