Together you will learn about composition\, light\, and how to shoot a great photo anywhere. Teens will be given their own disposable film camera to use for the afternoon; after the program is over our friends at Indie Photo Philadelphia will develop the film\, and together we will return for a follow-up class to see our photos! \nThis project is made possible by Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education\, Office of Commonwealth Libraries with additional support from the National Endowment for the Humanities\, individual donors and other funders. \nFor teens in grades 5-12 \nRegistration is required.

SUMMARY:Making Space: A Mindful Walk to Welcome Spring
DESCRIPTION:Meet Therese Daniels\, owner of Roots to Branches Soul Studio\, in the woods at Haverford College Arboretum just after the Spring Equinox. Participants will walk together to release and make space for new internal growth as spring begins. \nFollowing nature’s cycles\, winter offered a time for rest. Now\, with the arrival of spring\, it’s time to release and move forward with renewed momentum. \nDuring this mindful walk\, Therese will gently guide participants to reflect\, breathe\, walk\, gather\, release\, and reset. \nParticipants will receive a small journal and tote bag for gathering. Roots to Branches will also provide mats or towels for seating during the opening and closing reflection time. Benches are also available. \nDress comfortably in layers depending on the weather. Sturdy shoes are recommended\, as trails may still be muddy. DESCRIPTION:The Borough of Conshohocken is excited to host the 13th annual Conshy 5K Classic and 20th annual Conshohocken St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday\, March 14. These family-friendly St. Patrick’s Day festivities take place on Fayette Street\, Conshohocken’s main corridor\, between Elm Street and 11th Avenue. Drawing visitors from across Montgomery County and the Philadelphia area\, the yearly events feature green-clad runners\, best costume contest\, lively floats\, traditional Irish dance\, live musical performances and themed refreshments. \nStarting at 12:30pm\, the 5K race helps raise funds for the Conshohocken Fire Company #2\, equipping its firefighting volunteers. Registration and packet pickup will take place at Conshohocken Fire Co #2 (819 Fayette St) on race day beginning at 11am. Registration for the 5K costs $37 (price increases after March 13). \nThe 20th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes place from 2-5pm\, and many visitors continue celebrating local restaurants and pubs on Fayette Street and in the surrounding neighborhood.
