DESCRIPTION:The Gay Street Open-Air Market returns for 2026! \nEach year\, four blocks of Gay Street (from Matlack Street to Darlington Street) are closed to vehicles so everyone can partake in al fresco dining and shopping. Restaurants extend into the street\, so you can enjoy the beautiful weather as you eat. \nThis year\, Gay Street will be shut down for the Open-Air Market every weekend (Friday morning through Monday morning). Gay Street will remain closed to vehicles on Monday holidays (Memorial Day and Labor Day) and start a day early on Thursdays ahead of Friday holidays (Juneteenth and Independence Day). \nDowntown West Chester has a variety of on-street parking\, surface lots\, and parking garages available. \nOpportunities for free parking downtown: \n\nOn-street parking is free on Saturdays until 5pm.\nOn-street parking\, surface lots\, and parking garages are free on Sundays (excluding the Chester County Justice Center Garage).\nEvery First Friday of the month\, on-street parking is free after 5pm.\n\nGay Street is closed to vehicles for the Open-Air Market every weekend from May through September.

DESCRIPTION:Inspirit AI is partnering with Delaware Valley Friends School to offer an in-person project-based artificial intelligence program. Inspirit AI is an AI education program developed and taught by Stanford and MIT alumni and graduate students. The program will consist of ten 3-hour sessions taking place from July 13-24\, 2026 at DV Friends. \nStudents from rising 6th – graduating 12th grades will learn the fundamental concepts of AI and gain a deeper understanding of how AI is used to build ChatGPT and generative AI\, fight the COVID-19 pandemic\, power self-driving cars\, and more. Students will learn to program AI using Python\, discuss ethics and bias within AI\, and complete a group project applying AI to disciplines like healthcare\, astronomy\, finance\, and more! No prior computer science experience is required to participate\, and advanced cohorts are available. Separate middle and high school sections will be offered.
