DESCRIPTION:As the leaves begin to change color\, Pumpkinland returns to Linvilla Orchards in Media. This fall\, visitors can explore an array of pumpkins ranging from small and skinny to tall and plump. The annual pumpkin festival will also feature a variety of autumn activities\, including hayrides\, pick-your-own apples\, and mazes. Pumpkinland will be open from September 6 through November 2\, 2025\, offering seasonal energy and attractions for all ages. \nGuests are encouraged to visit the Pumpkinland page on Linvilla’s website for the most up-to-date information\, including hours of operation\, which vary seasonally. \nPUMPKINLAND FEATURES\nHarvest Hayrides: September 6 – November 2\, 2025.\nVisitors can enjoy views of the farm on a 15-minute ride through the fields on Linvilla’s harvest hayrides. These daytime hayrides are open to the public\, with hours that vary throughout the season. \nHayrides to the Witch’s House: September 19–21\, 26–28 and October 1–30\, 2025.\nFamilies can take a trip to meet the friendly witch in the woods. Children will gather around as the witch shares stories and jokes and hands out treats. These evening hayrides run daily from 5:30 pm to 8 pm (Fridays and Saturdays until 8:30 pm). \nAutumn Moon Hayrides: September 19–21\, 26–28\, October 1–30\, and November 1\, 2025.\nGuests can enjoy the night sky on a 20-minute hayride through the fields. These rides are open to the public and run from dusk through early evening\, with hours that vary throughout the season. \nJack-O-Lantern Exhibit: October 17 – 30\, 2025\nEach evening at 6 pm\, jack-o-lanterns will be lit to create a spooktacular scene for the whole family to enjoy. \nHappy Halloween: October 31\, 2025\nOn Halloween\, the Farm Market\, Garden Center\, and Pumpkinland will remain open until 6 pm.

SUMMARY:The Great Pumpkin Carve
DESCRIPTION:Witness an incredibly unique Halloween tradition started over 50 years ago by renowned local artist Andrew Wyeth and his son at the Chadds Ford Historical Society.  Over 70 native pumpkins from a Chadds Ford farm\, ranging in size from 150 to 400 pounds\, are carved by local artists and lit on Thursday night. These gourd masterpieces are then displayed for the next two days. Event attendees can enjoy a festive atmosphere with live music from “Kenny Thompson & Friends\,” a haunted trail\, raffles\, and food and drink for purchase while admiring the carvings. \nDates: \n\nThursday\, October 16\, 2 pm to 9 pm\nFriday\, October 17\, 2 pm to 10 pm\nSaturday\, October 18\, noon to 10 pm\n\nTicket Prices (purchased on-site at the admission tent): \n\n$15 for adults 18 and older\n$5 for children ages 7 to 17\nFree for children 6 and under / CFHS Members\n\nParking is FREE: Follow signs for General Parking to the Meadow next to the Chadds Ford Historical Society. DESCRIPTION:History is always better told by lantern light and with a chill in the air. Join one of Historic Sugartown’s knowledgeable guides as they lead you through the village by lantern. Along with Sugartown’s rich history\, you’ll learn about the strange world of death and mourning in Victorian America. \nTours last approximately 1 hour. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your tour so that it can leave on time. \nBecause of the historic nature of the property\, there is limited wheelchair accessibility in some of the buildings and some difficult terrain. Please contact us with any questions about accessibility. Tours take place rain or shine. \nThe lantern tours will leave from the Carriage Museum approximately every half hour from 6:00 to 8:00 pm\, and will last approximately one hour. Pre-registration is preferred—space is limited. \nWhile you wait for your tour to begin\, have your ghostly portrait taken in the Worrall Barn Ruin! Photos will be on display in the Carriage Museum following the end of the tour. \nAdmission: $15 for adults\, $10 for children ages 6 – 17.

DESCRIPTION:Get into the spooky spirit with a Ceramic Pumpkin carve! This one day workshop will encourage you to get weird and make a Jack-o-Lantern by using beginner-friendly handbuilding and surface decoration techniques on a slipcasted pumpkin. \n—— \nPlease note that this workshop takes place in the Utility Works basement\, which is only accessible via stairs. The class requires participants to be able to sit and/or stand for at least three hours and use their hands for two hours. You must be able to lift 25 lbs. There are two gender-neutral bathrooms available for students\, including one that is ADA accessible. Each presentation consists of a live 25-minute overview of the current night sky followed by an educational and entertaining movie\, roughly 30 minutes in length. These presentations are given by West Chester University students. Parents with young children may find that these presentations hold their child’s attention better than the live shows. A short description of the movies can be found here . \nAll shows start promptly at 7:00 pm and run approximately one hour in length. Late arrivals will not be permitted to enter the planetarium so please allow adequate time for parking and walking to the planetarium. Doors open at 6:30pm. Shows are general seating. The cost of the show is $6 per person. Children under the age of 5 may sit on a parent’s lap for free. \nNo food or drink is allowed in the planetarium. \nThe planetarium is wheelchair accessible.
