Young Artist Academy: The Secrets of Surrealism and the Imaginary Arts Class

This is a five-week, in-person or virtual skill-building art class for kids, ages 10 – 14, held on Saturdays, from March 12 – April 9, 2022. Carry on the legacy of the fine art instruction in the oldest art academy in the US! The classes take place in the wonderful Historic Landmark Building and the museum galleries. All supplies provided. Hone the power of line, light, composition, and perspectives on the way of mastering the secrets of Surrealism and imaginary arts. Explore PAFA’s collection and discover the “magic” of America’s greatest artists. Look beyond the everyday, embrace your subconsciousness, and release your imagination, while learning the skill of visualizing the world of the surreal! Participants will develop skills in drawing and painting, while experimenting with different techniques and media. Please note: Covid-19 vaccination is required for students 5 and older.
