Hear ye, hear ye! By order of His Majesty King George III, you are hereby invited to visit the Peter Wentz Farmstead! During the winter of 1777 and into the spring of 1778, the Continental army was encamped at Valley Forge while British troops occupied Philadelphia. Both sides sent out patrols to gather intelligence and supplies. Sometimes British patrols extended fairly far into what is now Bucks and Montgomery County. Visit the farmstead on May 6 and 7 to meet members of the Queens Rangers and British Light Infantry men to learn about those trying times for citizens and soldiers alike. All ages; free.
The Peter Wentz Farmstead is a restored 18th-century historic site and working farm, first settled by Peter and Rosanna Wentz in 1744. The Farmstead offers plenty of fun, educational events and programming throughout the year, including living history demonstrations, workshops, nature programs, and much more. The historic house is open for guided tours year-round.
