Sculptures & Landscapes: Family Crafts & Opening Reception

May 22 @ 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Join the Maguire Art Museum to celebrate new works on view, including sculptures by Robert Engman and “Transcending Nature,” selections from the PAFA collection by artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, at the MAM for a limited amount of time.

Stop by after school or work starting at 3:30 pm for crafts inspired by the collection. Build a twisting paper sculpture inspired by Engman, create a watercolor flower sculpture, or make a torn paper landscape inspired by “Transcending Nature.”

Stay for the official opening at 5:30 pm, and join a tour highlighting Philadelphia artists in the collection at 6:30 pm. Refreshments and light fare will be available. Families can also enjoy the museum’s family space which offers bean bags, picture books, puzzles, and magnetic tiles. Scavenger hunts in the galleries and in the Barnes Arboretum are available.

Please note that the museum is only accessible from Lapsley Ln via City Ave. The museum is not accessible from Latches Lane.
