Philadelphia Welsh Week
August 27 @ 10:00 am - 10:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until September 4, 2022
You don’t have to be Welsh to enjoy the Welsh Week festival. Everyone is welcome to experience a taste of Welsh food, film, family fun, history, and entertainment. Learn a little about the rich history of the Welsh in Philadelphia and why there are so many Welsh place names in the area like Bryn Mawr, Merion, Bala Cynwyd, Tredyffrin and Gwynedd. And perhaps discover more about your own Welsh ancestry. Highlights include two concerts of Welsh music at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts—a traditional male voice choir and a concert of contemporary Welsh music; screenings, seminars, theatre, a Penderyn Welsh Whisky Masterclass, and an opportunity to buy Welsh crafts and enjoy delicious Welsh cakes and tea at The Doubletree Hotel in Philadelphia, and more! See the event schedule for all the week’s activities in and around Philadelphia.
