PECO Family Jams: Drawn Together

In conjunction with the Free Library’s “One Book, One Philadelphia” program, Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens are celebrating Drawn Together written by Minh Lê and illustrated by Dan Santat. In this beautiful children’s book a shared love of art and storytelling overcomes communication barriers between a young boy and his grandfather. Like them, the guests will imagine a fantastical world and create a self-image to inhabit it. Instead of paint brushes and colored markers, guests will use a black-and-white printer, bits of cloth, and a variety of templates — from antelope horns to mermaid tails — to construct their new selves.
