Juneteenth Jubilee on State Street in Kennett Square
June 19 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
As part of its Third Thursday series, Kennett Square will host a Juneteenth Jubilee on June 19th, 2025. This powerful and uplifting community celebration will feature educational components such as workshops and information sessions on African American troop regiments who fought in the Civil War and Frederick Douglas, the famous abolitionist. The event will feature cultural performances by African drummers, dancers and jazz musicians. There will be opportunities to participate in double dutch jump roping and to sample delicious soul food cuisine. Local black-owned vendors will offer items for purchase and children can participate in a lantern-making craft, face painting, and balloon art.
Come out and honor African American achievements, learn from historical interpreters and experience the vibrant Juneteeth community spirit in Kennett Square. It is suggested that visitors bring cash in small denominations to enjoy the food and other vendors. This event is free, but registration is recommended.
