At this First Friday event at the Science History Institute, visitors will plunge into the world of citizen science by testing out instruments scientists use to monitor ocean health and learning what everyone can do to combat this global issue. Guests can test their knowledge of deep-sea creatures through an interactive digital guessing game, “dissect” a sculptural shark model from the collection, and participate in a special marine-themed game of Go Fish.
The event celebrates Citizen Science Month, highlighting how everyday people can participate in scientific research.
First Fridays invite everyone to spark their curiosity while exploring exhibits after hours. These events bring together numerous activities covering everyday science, historical oddities, and everything in between. Attendees can gather their friends and kick off an evening of discovery, surprise, and nerdy fun.
First Fridays at the Institute are always free and open to the public.
