The magical world of Tyler Arboretum’s pond awaits curious explorers! As seasons change, so does the fascinating array of creatures that inhabit this vibrant aquatic ecosystem. Visitors can spot frogs, turtles, and tadpoles swimming among tiny duckweed from the observation deck.
Families are invited to join PA Master Naturalist Sue Fredrick for an exploration of pond life. Each participant will receive their very own magnifying glass to examine water samples up close, revealing the hidden universe of tiny aquatic organisms. This relaxed, informative tour highlights the diverse plants and animals that thrive in and around the pond environment.
This program is ideal for elementary school-aged children accompanied by an adult, though families with children of any age are welcome to participate. Visitors should meet their guide at the Visitor Center and wear sturdy shoes for walking the trails. In case of inclement weather, the program will move indoors with an alternative nature topic.
Pre-registration is required for this exciting opportunity to discover the wonders of pond life!
