Encanto (2021 Disney film, PG)

On Movie Mondays, the Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center presents some of their favorite movies. Tickets are $5 and include complimentary popcorn—a perfect family night out! This week’s film is the Disney hit, Encanto. Upon its release by the Walt Disney Animation Studios creative team, Encanto received critical acclaim for its characterization, music, animation, voice acting, emotional depth, and cultural fidelity and went on to win the 2021 Oscar for Best Animated Film. Enjoy chart-topping songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda as we follow this tale of a Colombian family’s struggle to help their rural community and pass their magical legacy along to the next generation.
