$5 Movie Mondays: The Avengers (1998 Film; PG-13)

On Movie Mondays, the Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center presents some of their favorite movies. Tickets are $5 and include complimentary popcorn—a perfect family night out! This week’s feature film is The Avengers, starring Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman.
The Warner Brothers’ 1998 movie reprises the characters from the popular British TV series which ran from 1961-69, with Ralph Fiennes as dapper agent Mr. Steed, Uma Thurman as svelte scientist Mrs. Peel, and Sean Connery — kilt and all — as the evil opponent, not to mention the ever-likeable Jim Broadbent as “Mother” the head of the British spy unit, in a clear nod to Moneypenny of the Bond series.
