On Movie Mondays, the Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center presents some of their favorite movies. Tickets are $5 and include complimentary popcorn—a perfect family night out! This week’s feature film is Hook.
When Steven Spielberg, Robin Williams, and Dustin Hoffman come together to make a movie, it is a home run. That’s what happened with “Hook” with Wiliams playing Peter Pan, and Hoffman playing Captain Hook in the beloved story about a boy who never grew up. This brilliant casting is rounded off by Julia Roberts as Tinker Bell, Bob Hoskins as Mr. Smee and the legendary Maggie Smith as Granny Wendy. In this lovely twist on the original timeline, Peter did actually grow up to become a successful corporate lawyer but his old nemesis, Captain Hook, kidnaps his two children and he must return to Neverland to rescue them. With a John Williams musical score and astonishing production values, along with a clock eating crocodile, “Hook” has won the hearts of children of all ages.
