Disney For All Ages

Make the most of your Disney World family trip by sticking to what works for each age! There is plenty of magic for everyone in your party.

Deciding where to embark on a family vacation is no easy task- you need to find a place that fits the ages of your family members, has something to entertain everyone, food that all ranges of picky eaters will like, and perhaps even a Kids Club for parents to take a little break from the action. For millions of travelers every year the answer to this question is the same- Disney World! There really is something for everyone, from ages 2 to 92 (I think that was their tagline for a while, no?)! I went from being someone who said that Disney World would be the trip the grandparents took our children on while my husband and I sunbathed in the Virgin Islands to the mom who may actually get more excited for our family Disney trips than my kids do! We’ve gone several times now, with four children, and have learned some tips to share along the way!

In general- if you don’t plan ahead you may not get to do ALL of the top highlights, but you might. If possible, plan your trip at least six months in advance so that you can make your dining reservations. However there are many counter service and snack places that serve great food for walk up diners if you don’t make any reservations, or prefer not to be locked in to a meal schedule. You can also snag last minute sit down dining reservations on their website, app, or by calling because people make cancellations all the time. Folks staying at a Disney Resort can book their Fast Pass+ reservations 60 days before check in, if you are staying off site then you can book 30 days ahead. Obtaining a Fast Pass+ for the popular rides at each park allows you entry to an “express lane” for a much shorter wait time. As of right now, you can book three fast passes per day in advance, and once you have used those passes you can add them one at a time as they remain available by using the Disney app or a kiosk in each park.
