My family is incredibly fortunate to have found Dr. Dixit: My father agreed to stop driving if a neuropsych evaluation corroborated our family’s concerns. For my dad to accept a diagnosis he didn’t like, he needed a practitioner who was completely competent and as smart as he is. Dr. Dixit clearly is clearly knowledgeable and has an excellent sense of humor, both of which impressed my well-educated dad. What struck me the most about her interaction with both of us is that she never spoke down to my dad and paid him the highest respect by being at once forthright and compassionate with him. Dr. Dixit spoke directly to my dad, something that is sadly unusual with geriatric patients. She was not intimidated by his resistance to her diagnosis, and, ultimately, he accepted it and saw her for some therapy sessions as well.
