Caring for Friends is a volunteer-driven, free food delivery program for homebound seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities – and it needs your help.
Caring for Friends is a free food delivery program for homebound seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities. The 48-year-old nonprofit also works with 200+ community groups in Philadelphia and its surrounding counties - to provide food bank services in underserved neighborhoods, engages 10,000 volunteers to cook, deliver, and pack meals, as well as provide food through a homeless outreach program. CFF encourages and accepts families, school groups, and corporate teams to volunteer in its warehouse, or in their own location, to share food and friendship with neighbors in need.
No matter how much time you have, there's an opportunity for you, from holding a food drive with your school to volunteering two hours to pack snack bags for kids to donating chore or allowance money to making meals with your family in your own home or even drawing caring cards.
If you want to make an immediate impact in your neighborhood and throughout the city, here’s your chance. Volunteering with Caring for Friends is flexible, it’s fun, and for a company or school, it’s a great team building experience.
Whether you are an entrepreneur opening a new business or a legacy organization that would like to be more connected with families around the Main Line and Philly’s suburbs, we welcome you to join our Membership program at mainlineparent.com/join/.
