Appel Farm Arts Camp is a gender-affirming overnight summer arts camp for kids ages 8 – 16. They offer connection and learning through an arts-based curriculum, in a safe environment of community, personal growth, and fun! For more than 60 years, summers at Appel Farm have sparked the imaginations of thousands of young people as they interacted with artists from around the world in beautiful rural southern New Jersey.
We do camp differently.

Appel Farm has this unique space of no judgement, joyful creation and true empowerment that I have not found in many other places. I am very grateful my daughter gets to be part of this every summer. She keeps the sense of those weeks with her the rest of her year and it gives her freedom to be.

My children have attend Appel Farm Arts Camp for the past 4 summers. It has been such a joy to watch my children thrive in their nurturing community. My oldest has performed in 8 plays during her time at camp, starting when she was 7. Her confidence has blossomed and she’s found joy and made lasting friendships. My middle daughter played piano on stage for the first time last summer. She loves ceramics and dancing. All of her interests have been supported by incredible teaching artists. I am also incredibly grateful to Appel Farm. In March when the pandemic began they hosted an Appel Farm Spring Break over zoom. My family was under a lot of stress because my husband is a front line healthcare worker. Apple Farm staff from around the world ran zoom classes and hang outs and supported my kids emotionally during an incredibly hard time. Over the summer, when in person camp couldn’t happen they found ways to keep the community connected electronically. Appel Farm is such a special place. I think they deserve a LOVE award for sure!

Both my kids (now 12 and 14) have gone the last 2 summers and LOVE it.
