Longwood Garden’s Festival of Fountains

Van Gogh Museum Editions Pop-up Tour

Through October 14

Lord and Taylor Court at King of Prussia Mall, 160 N. Gulph Rd., King of Prussia

 

If you’re at the mall (or need an excuse to go), stop by Lord and Taylor Court to see a display of unparalleled, curator-approved replicas of nine Van Gogh masterpieces– it is even possible to feel Van Gogh’s famous brushstrokes! This pop-up is the first stop on the Van Gogh Museum’s tour, and will be there until October 14.

MERGE Dance with Miss Christa

A half hour of music and dance for kids ages 0-3. No registration required.

Earthquake!

September 10, 2:30—3:30 pm

Paoli Library, 18 Darby Rd., Paoli

 

Work in teams to build a structure that can resist the effects on an earthquake. Will you be left standing? Ages 9 to 11. Registration required.

Teen and Tween Yoga at Middletown Free Library

September 10, 4:30—5:15 pm

21 North Pennell Road, Media

 

Guest certified yoga instructors will teach different poses, breathing techniques, and flexibility for a fun and relaxing means of exercise. The library provides the mats, just bring the kids in comfy, stretchy clothes. Registration is not required. Ages 10 and up.

Family Story Time at Longwood Gardens

September 11, 10 am and 10:45 am

Young guests can enjoy nature-based stories in Lookout Loft Treehouse amid the beauty of the surrounding forest. Storytelling, songs, and puppets encourage children to discover the joys of nature, language, and literature. Story Time is designed for children ages 3–5. In case of inclement weather, meet in the Peirce-du Pont House.

Toddler Tuesdays at Color Me Mine

Tyler Arboretum Garden Sprouts

“Garden Sprouts” introduces children ages 4-6 and their favorite adult to the world of plants and gardening. Each program includes an interactive lesson and chores around the garden. This week: tomatoes! Pre-registration is required.

Jenkins Explorers: Thursday Nature Stories

September 13, 10—11 am

Jenkins Arboretum, 631 Berwyn Baptist Road, Devon

 

Visit the Children’s Garden and enjoy a nature-themed read aloud. After the stories, borrow a Jenkins Explorer Vest and binder of materials to enjoy as you walk along the garden paths. Appropriate for children 3 to 8 accompanied by an adult. Free of charge, but pre-registration is required. Rain or shine.

Dance Me a Story

September 13, 10:30 am

21 North Pennell Road, Media

 

This class is for kids ages 2-5 (with caregiver supervision). Each class starts in a circle with a warm-up and gross-motor skills around the room. The dance teacher, Ms Lisa Oster, uses dance terms throughout the class and incorporates a bit of yoga as well. Then each class features a story with movement and accompanying music, freeze dance, and cool down. Pre-registration is required online.

S.M.Art Kids Club

This new weekly after-school club for kids in grades 1-5 will explore a different STEM topic each month through books, experiments, crafts, and hands-on fun. Read a book, make an inspiring mess, and learn something new! No registration required.

Kids in grades 6-12 can relax and play a game to end the week. A Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Game Cube console, and games are available for use; or kids can bring their own portable device or game.

BYOB and Pizza Night at Lulu’s Casita

Lulu’s is open until 7:30 pm for more fun, BYOB, and pizza starting at 4 pm. Parents can relax with some adult beverages while kids tire themselves out before bedtime.

Family Camp Out at Harriet Wetherill Park

September 14, 5:30 pm—September 15, 10 am

Pack up the family and head over to Harriet Wetherill Park for a fun night of camping! There will be planned activities, a campfire, s’mores, a giant outdoor movie, and a light continental breakfast in the morning. Pack your own dinner for a picnic in the park. “ZooSnooze” at Elmwood Park Zoo

Discover what happens at the zoo after the sun goes down, spend a night under the stars with your favorite animal friends, and enjoy outdoor family time in a safe and unique environment! Tickets must be bought online in advance, and include admission, pizza dinner, activities, a movie and popcorn under the stars, s’mores by the campfire, and breakfast in the morning. For kids ages 4 and up with their families.

Family Night Out at Goldfish Swim School

Bring the entire family in for a free family swim event. There will be fun flotation devices in the pool and a delicious snack at the front desk. Keeping with their monthly celebration, Pirates and Princesses, children can also decorate a pirate hat and a princess crown!

Tyler After Dark Adventures (Members Only)

Members can join Tyler educators to explore the woods and meadows to listen for owls and search for bats and other nocturnal creatures. Enjoy roasting marshmallows over a campfire for s’mores. Suitable for ages 3 and up. Pre-registration required online.
