I have sent my grandson to the summer day camp program several times, and he loves it. His first summer, he was 7 years old and socially immature. He spent 1/2 days in a special program to help children use words to communicate feelings instead of acting out. The improvement in his relationships with children his age and in his behavior was remarkable. He loved the afternoon art classes. I highly recommend the Center on Central for children who are creative, and may have special needs, and for the professional, well-trained staff who support each child to bring out the best in the children.

Ms. Katie Opfer and her dedicated, supportive and creative staff have been a rock, wealth of information afforded creative play and art for my daughters and I for over 5 years. I initially became aware of the CoC through gathering information for social skills camps for summer. Camp 24 was the first fun yet challenging experience for my daughter on the spectrum. She continues to tap into the many coping skills she learned then today. Between both of my girls, we have participated in Kids Night Ins, pottery classes, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, drawing courses, Creative Summer Camps, and Young Rembrandt. I highly recommend Katie and the CoC for any child or adult looking for programs or therapies that are not cookie cutter, but rather designed uniquely to fill a niche for special needs and neurotypical children alike.
