Labor Day marks the unofficial end to summer and celebrates the American worker (that’s you!). Get out and enjoy the local fun as you make the most of the long weekend.

Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show and Country Fair

 

September 1–3

1325 Pottstown Pike, Glenmoore

 

Celebrating its 75th year, this iconic Chester County country fair has a midway full of fun for the kids, a wide array of vendors selling everything from antiques to handmade jewelry and of course equestrian events all weekend long. Don’t miss the carriage parade or the alpaca meet and greet.

 

Labor Day Fireworks at Sesame Place 

September 1—2, after the 8 pm parade

100 Sesame Road, Langhorne

 

Rock out with Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster, and Count von Count as their music fills the air and the sky is covered with colorful bursts of brilliance. Fireworks take place after the 8 pm evening performance of the Neighborhood Street Party Night Parade.

 

Summer unWINEd Concert featuring Fireworks

September 1, 5—10 pm

Shadybrook Farm, 931 Stony Hill Rd., Yardley

Come for a live concert celebrating the music of the Eagles, wines by Rose Bank Winery, locally brewed craft beer, signature cocktails featuring PA distilled spirits, great food, lawn games, and fun for the kiddos. An amazing fireworks show will end the night. Tickets available online.

 

Charming Star Playroom Grand Opening 

September 1, 9 am–3 pm

West Chester Grower’s Market Labor Day Picnic

September 1, 9 am–1 pm

Corner of N Church & W Chestnut Streets, West Chester

 

Come for some fresh produce and go home with a belly full of grilled sweet corn, hot dogs and lemonade as the market shows their customer appreciations during this FREE event.

 

Take your littlest ones to Charming Star Playroom–a new indoor play space in Newtown Square. Important note: This space is only open to kids six years and younger.

 

Delaware Children’s Museum: Star Wars Science

Celebrate the force on Labor Day with hands-on science experiments and visits from your favorite Star Wars characters.

 

Elmwood Park Zoo Free entry for Norristown Residents

September 2, 2–5 pm

Animal lovers who live in Norristown are invited to visit the EPZ for FREE! Don’t forget your proof of residency–a driver’s license or a utility bill will do the trick.

 

Norristown Summer Concert Series Presents The Monkeephiles…a faithful tribute to The Monkees!
