Thank you for your interest in becoming a contributor for Main Line Parent!
Main Line Parent is accepting pitches for both its print and online publications.
Because ours is a regional publication, we look for stories that will interest and inform parents in the Greater Philadelphia area. We feature timely topics for local families, including issues relating to childcare and health, balancing work and family, and managing the everyday demands of raising children of all ages.
Main Line Parent’s print edition is currently bi-annual, with a Fall/Winter issue releasing in September and a Spring/Summer issue releasing in March. Pitches aimed to a particular issue should be received at least three months in advance of the issue in question.
Our magazine includes regular departments relating to area charities, fashion, food, and childhood development, as well as longer-form features on a variety of topics. Writers are welcome to pitch for any space.
MainLineParent.com is constantly sharing news, events, tips, and tricks with our readers. Articles are released weekly, and pitches that are time sensitive in nature should be received approximately one month in advance of the proposed post date.
Online articles include first-person accounts of unique challenges in parenting, profiles of local businesses, charities, and initiatives, tips from expert sources, and more. Please keep in mind that online articles should not run more than 750 words in length and should ideally include at least one clear photo (sizable to 595 px in width) that you have received permission to include.
- All minors are referred to by first initials only at Main Line Parent.
- While contributors do not need to live or work in the Philadelphia area, the article must have a tie-in to our area.
- Main Line Parent is not a guide to parenting; it is a resource. Please, no articles on controversial or pro/con subjects such as breastfeeding, vaccinations, home birth, attachment parenting, punishment, etc.
