Study up on the amazing local education options available at the Main Line Parent Early Childhood Education Fairs January 26 & 27!By Melissa Greiner Photo by Carrie Hill
You are ready to look into schools for your young child, but you may realize quickly that it’s you getting an education. Even before they have mastered their ABCs, terms like “teacher-student ratio” and “creative curriculum” are filling your mind, while your Google history features the websites of every preschool in a 25 mile radius. What’s out there, what makes each school different, and how on earth do you chose the place that will set the pace of your child’s education?
Choosing a preschool or other early education program can be down-right daunting. But we want parents to see the plethora of options on the Main Line as a benefit, not a hurdle. The Main Line Parent Early Childhood Education Fairs, sponsored by Kimberton Waldorf School, are a stress-free way to meet area schools face-to-face, ask the burning questions, and do it all in one afternoon. By the end of the fair we hope you will know better what style of program is for your child, understand your top schools’ admissions processes, and have the information you need about tuition, scholarships, and tax credits.
This year we are offering two fairs to better serve our community and help parents connect more with their neighborhood. On January 26 we will host a fair in Wayne that covers schools in the western Main Line, and the fair on January 27 in Wynnewood will cover schools in the east. Learn more about what schools will be attending here.
During both events we will also be hosting a Milk & Cookies Mingle, a great way to meet other parents, children that may end up in your own kid’s class, and babysitters with local availability through our sponsor Urbansitter. Stop by for a speed-date-style interview and walk away with yet another set of numbers!
As if that weren’t enough, we are also excited to be hosting a series of amazing giveaways thanks to a number of participants and MLP partners. To enter, comment on the post of the prize you are interested in, register for one of the fairs (here for Wayne, and here for Wynnewood), and attend.
There will also be additional giveaways up for grabs at the fairs, and all attendees are entered automatically! For more chances, please bring a non-perishable food donation for the Upper Darby Food Pantry with you, and as a thank you we’ll provide you with extra entry tickets!
