Monday, June 25

The Haverford Township Free Library has the perfect way to start the week after an eventful weekend: a Monday Morning Movie! Each week will begin with a new family-friendly movie with air conditioning and popcorn!

Monday Fun Day at the Springfield Township Library features a different activity each week for children entering grades 3-5; this week is craft-a-palooza filled with cool summer crafts!

The Please Touch Museum celebrates the birthday of children’s author Eric Carle with special appearances by the Very Hungry Caterpillar himself during story times in the Story Castle today.

Tuesday, June 26

It’s the Preschool Block Party with the Very Hungry Caterpillar at the Narberth Community Library! Meet master K’Nex builder Erica Baritz, and have the opportunity to build and take home your own K’Nex creation.

The Rock ‘N’ Roar concert series at the Philadelphia Zoo continues with a live performance by Yosi & the Superdads on the Impala Lawn. Free with zoo admission.

Wednesday, June 27

Smith Playhouse is the site of Wawa Welcome America!’s Go 4th and Learn About Fitness event today at 10 am. Get ready for the 4th of July with games and fun, celebrity readers, and arts & crafts!

Penn Museum’s Summer Wonder series returns with performances and demos perfect for the whole family. Join in with Summer Wonder every Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 am until August 8. Program is free with museum admission. Today’s program features the Doc Gibbs Ensemble, exploring African percussion and dance.

The Easttown Library presents an energetic performance by The Universal African Dance & Drum Ensemble in the courtyard for a night of fun and music.

Thursday, June 28

Tredyffrin Township Summer Concert Series continues tonight, with family-friendly musical entertainment at Wilson Farm Park every Thursday at 7 pm through July. Tonight enjoy Chico’s Vibe. The township is partnering with F4 Fiorenza’s Food for Friends to collect non-perishable food donations during these concerts to be distributed to local food pantries in Chester County.

Elmwood Park Zoo brings live animals and touchable artifacts to Tredyffrin Public Library to take a look at our five senses and how zoo animals use their senses in similar or different ways.

Friday, June 29

Teens entering grades 6 to 12 are invited to learn about bracelet making at the Radnor Memorial Library. Create custom-made bracelets out of household materials!

It’s Teen Lock-In at Paoli Library! Enjoy movies, games, crafts, food, and fun at this party with your friends!

Today begins the Chester County Jazz Festival, a weekend-long celebration of the music that soothes the soul. Enjoy jazz music at several locations throughout the area.

Saturday, June 30

Take a musical trip through Magic Land where everything comes alive at night! Puppets Pizazz will perform at the Radnor Memorial Library tonight for all ages.

Bredenbeck’s Bakery and the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program have begun work on the creation of a mural on the three-story bakery building! Join them for a Community Day to meet artist Ann Northup and help sketch the mural design. After all of your child’s hard work they will also decorate their own cookies!

The Barnes & Noble of Valley Forge invites you to welcome local author and Drexel University Professor Ken Bingham for a book signing of his new book, The Greatest Phillies Clubs of All Time.

Sunday, July 1

Get an early 4th of July BBQ fix at the Big Bang BBQ Weekend at the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail, where regional wineries will be offering a variety of food, wine, picnicking, and music to celebrate Independence Weekend!

The Mama Mac Band will be performing at MilkBoy in Ardmore at 4 pm. From rock and roll to country, blues, and reggae, this winner of the 2010 Mom’s Best Award will inspire kids to get up and dance with their eclectic music mix!

West Whiteland Township celebrates Independence Weekend with their summer concert performance and fireworks tonight, beginning at 6:30 pm in Miller Park.
